Chapter 2

"Next Stop, West Ward Cemetery" said a loud booming voice from speakers.
"Come on Kyle, wake up, we're at the Cemetery." said Mandy in a soft voice.
Mandy stood up and proceeded to the front of the shuttle. Kyle rubbed his eyes and slowly got up to the front of the shuttle.
The shuttle came to a complete stop and the doors opened. Mandy and Kyle got off and continued to walk down the paved road towards the Cemetery gates.
Kyle looked at Mandy and to his surprise, he felt something was different.
"Sis? Are you shrinking?"
Mandy stopped, turned to Kyle and smiled.
"No silly, you're just growing."
Kyle scratched his head, let out a loud laugh and stared back at Mandy.
The sunlight reflected off of Mandy's skin. She stood five foot six, slender build. Her long white hair flowed down to her waist. Her eyes were different colours, the left silver and the right was emerald. There was something different about her.
Kyle's first memories of himself were of Mandy hugging him. There was a lot of noise around them. There was an intense heat that was burning within him. But when Mandy was hugging him, he felt calm, at peace, he was safe. This was a decade ago already.
"Kyle, stop staring at me. Let's go before it hit's noontime."
They proceeded through the gates and up the mountain. As they got closer to the top of the mountain, Kyle started feeling uneasy and a slight burn in his chest. He was feeling uneasy, as if someone or something was watching them.
"Sis? Do you feel that?"
Mandy looked at Kyle and just smiled.
They got to the top of the mountain. There was a large field with a statue of a woman on one knee praying. The woman had large wings extending from her back. One side of the wing was all white and the other side all black.
"Kyle, go before the statue and pray."
Kyle ran to the statue, bent down on one knee and began to pray.
The heat from his chest began to radiate. Kyle clutched his chest and tried to call out but to his dismay, he could not speak. He felt as if he was going on fire. A soft voice spoke out to him,
"Kyle, you must resist...............resist the tempt...............you must not give in.........Kyle....."
The pain started to intensify. What is happening? What is this feeling?
From behind, he felt a presence. Was it Mandy? Kyle kept clutching his chest and fighting the pain. He could hear bits and pieces of a conversation from behind him,
"Lady.............please execute................we can't........live......................WHAT?.........." then all was silent. Kyle fell over face first into the dirt unconscious.

Chapter 1

"CHECKMATE! You LOOOOOOOOSE sucker!!!! In your face! In your FACE!!!!" screamed out Kyle as he bested Mandy at the game of chess.
"Ooooooooo, big surprise there. You have defeated me 89.72% of the times that we have played" said Mandy with a big grin on her face.
"Well, still. IN YOUR FACE!!!!" shouted Kyle as he danced around.
Mandy got up from the table and walked to the door. "Kyle, remember to get ready, we will be heading out in 10 minutes."
The door clicked shut as Mandy left the room.
Kyle was still dancing around the table with a huge smile on his face. As much as he knew that Mandy was not a challenge, he still enjoyed it everytime that he crushed her in Chess. This was the only thing in life that he could ever beat Mandy in. His grades in school were very high, but he would always be second, right behind Mandy. Mandy was faster than him, smarter than him and much stronger than him. Kyle sometimes wondered if Mandy was just letting him win in chess. For the moment being, he just bathed in the moment of victory. He walked to the closet and spoke out to the panel,
"Suit Two, Black, please."
A soft hum came from within the closet, then a loud click. Kyle opened the closet door and retrieved the black suit from the hanger. He quickly changed and headed downstairs to meet up with Mandy.
Kyle stepped into the elevator,
"Main Lobby" said Kyle.
The elevator doors shut and the descend began. The doors opened and there was Mandy sitting at one of the lobby chairs staring off into the sky. Kyle decided to sneak up on Mandy.
"Hey Kyle! I wouldn't do that if I were you!" said someone from behind a counter.
"Awwwwww, that's no fun. Thanks for ruining it Ralph!"
"Alright Kyle, come on over here to checkout."
Kyle let out a long sigh and slowly walked to the counter. Kyle went to the electronic panel at the counter and placed his hand on the panel. A monotone computerized voice rang out from the speakers,
"Kyle, 16, Male. Resident of the West Ward. Appartment 8-899. Reason for checkout?"
"Going out with Mandy Lee to the West Ward Cemetery." said Kyle in an annoyed voice.
"Confirmed, please be back before 2000h. Have a safe trip."
Mandy stood up and proceeded to walk to the door,
"Thanks Ralph. Kyle, let's get moving or we will miss our shuttle. We have lots of work to do."
Ralph smiled at Kyle and gave a gentle nod to him. Kyle quickly turned around and ran towards the lobby door where Mandy left to.

Prologue

The room was filled with a very sweet scent that made it very hard to breath. The dim flickers of the light in the room made it quite hard to see where to place the next step.
"Come this way," a cloaked figure at the other side of the room coughed out.
Krysania continued to look around the room. There was nothing in the room except for the few sets of lights on the far side of the wall near the cloaked figure. Beside her, there were 3 others. They all began to slowly walk towards the cloaked figure. Krysania did not understand why she felt so compelled to move, but she knew she was not in control of her body.
"Wait here," said the figure.
There was a loud voice on the other side of the door "CHECKMATE!"
A loud chilling scream, then silence.
"You," the cloaked figure pointed at Krysania "are next."
